The
Iznajar area is perfectly situated in the heart of Andalucia and within
easy reach of all the great cultural destinations.
No trip is complete without a visit to Granada, whether to explore the
splendour of the Alhambra’s palaces and gardens or to explore
the old town itself. Granada is only 50 minutes drive and for winter
sports the ski slopes in the Sierra Nevada can be reached in an hour
and a half.
Seville is the largest city in southern Spain and in its Old Town you’ll
find the minaret, La Giralda, the cathedral which is the largest in
the world, the Alcazar palace and gardens, and the Santa Cruz quarter
with its narrow streets. It’s easily reached within an hour and
a half.
Cordoba, Moorish Spain’s ancient capital, again is well worth
the visit not only for the stunning mosque La Mezquita, once the largest
in the world, but also it’s arab and christian forts and the jewish
quarter. In May the squares are festooned with flowers for the city’s
annual best-dressed courtyard competition. Cordoba is just over an hour
away with the new motorway.
Ronda, another hilltop town, has its old and new towns linked by a spectacular
bridge crossing a gorge and is also home to Spain’s oldest bullring.
It can be reached in an hour and a half’s journey.
Trains also run from Antequera to Granada, Seville and Ronda and from
Bobadilla to Cordoba.
The Costa del Sol, famous for its beaches, nightlife and golf courses
is just an hour’s drive away.
